30 JSS students violated, as police arrest 10 Victims recount grisly gang sex initiation into cults
Parents in the South-East city of Enugu are currently overwhelmed with anxiety arising from a recent exposure of widespread cult membership among female students in Junior Secondary School (JSS) classes.
Parents and guardians are especially rattled by the ugly news that young girls were initiated into various confraternities after passing through initiations that involved gang rape and orgies.
The unsavoury facts came to light in the wake of a mass arrest carried out by the anti-cultism squad of Enugu State Police Command, an exercise that netted 10 students of JSS1 and JSS3, aged 14 and 15 years old. Their subsequent confessions indicated a pattern of systematic and continuous rape of over 30 girls during and after their initiation into various confraternities.
Exposed by a whistleblower
Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Danmallam, told Saturday Sun the operation was carried out after the Command received a tip-off that students of several Enugu secondary schools––namely Uwawi Girls Secondary Schools, City Girl Secondary School, Met- ropolitan Secondary Schools, New Layout Secondary School and Urban Girls Secondary School––belonged to various cult groups, especially the Viron Queen Confraternity.
According to Danmallam, the Command got from an informant a 30-name list of JSS students who were allegedly raped and initiated into cult groups.
“Anti-cultism detectives visited Urban Girls Secondary School and Metropolitan Girls Secondary School and arrested 10 of the JSS students on June 20. They are now in custody and had confessed their membership of Viron Queen Confraternity,” Danmallam disclosed.
Some of the students were identifiedasNaomiPeace,15, Ruth Nwoke, 14, Chibuogu Adaeze, 15 and Ujunwa Ede, 14. Others were Chiemerie Olisakure, 15, Akalisi Chisom, 14 and Ogbu Ebere, 14.
Unpalatable details
Details of how the girls were debauched by their abusers were explicitly stated in their confessions. The trio of Edeh, Peace and Nwoke told Saturday Sun they were introduced to the cult by a friend and at their initiation in 2017, were raped each by five different boys. “Our Parents didn’t know we are in the Viron Queen Confraternity,” they said.
Another victim, Adaeze, claimed “We didn’t know they put drugs in the drinks they gave us. From there, we were initiated and raped by six boys.”
Olisakure also added: “We were threatened not to tell anybody or our parents. The irony is that at the closing hour of the school, three of the same boys who initiated us would come with bike and take us away to have sex with us. After that, they give us N1,500, as transport fare.”
Chisom, also raped by five boys, said the incident took place at a friend’s party in a hotel where she first met the boys who introduced her to Viron Queen Confraternity and encouraged her to join. Her subsequent initiation, she claimed, involved several other female students from various schools in the New Layout area of Enugu.
She further alleged, “Some of our teachers know that we are members of Viron Queen Confraternity,” adding that: “We don’t respect our male and female teachers. Some of them used the advantage to sleep with us because we don’t want them to tell our parents. We can identify some of the boys who initiated and raped us and threatened us not to tell our parents. We have informed police officers and we hope they will be arrested”.
Some of the girls confessed to indulging in cigarette smoking and drinking beer at parties or clubs. However, they claimed their parents were not aware they had become cultists. While they heed words of advices from their parents, some of them claimed it was difficult to leave the Viron Queens or White Angels.
“We didn’t know that we are in bondage until the anti-cultism policemen arrested us in the school premises,” said Edeh.
Teachers and parents react
Saturday Sun visited Urban Girls Secondary Schools and met the Principal, Mrs O. Agu who affirmed that they were aware of the arrest of the students by the police but declined to speak any further with the reporter.
“I have a medium through which I channel my information,” she insisted.
One of the teachers who spoke with Saturday Sun on condition of anonymity claimed the arrested students were members of Viron Queens and White Angels confraternities.
“The school has a Department of Guidance and Counseling and a teacher who has been counseling students to stay away from cultism, but some of the students are not ready to change while some have changed and renounced their membership of cult groups,” she asserted.
A parent, Mr Alloy Obi told Saturday Sun: “I have two daughters attending Urban Girls Secondary School. They told me that cultism is rampant among the Junior Secondary School students. I didn’t believe them until I heard about the arrest of the students and their confession to be members of Viron Queens and White Angels.”
He called the development a shame to parents who have failed in their responsibility to know the welfare of their children. Teachers, he affirmed, “have done their best to teach them moral values.” Obi advised school authorities to look into the matter critically with a view to sanitizing the system.
“Schools’ PTAs need to start a campaign against cultism. They have to teach the children the word of God including prayer to deliver them from the power of darkness,” he stated.
In the words of Commissioner of Police Danmallam, the police are still investigating the case. The next phase of action, he added, is detectives going after those who raped and initiated the girls.

Trump slams Las Vegas shooting as 'act of pure evil'
US President Donald Trump has denounced the mass shooting at a Las Vegas music festival as "an act of pure evil," saying Americans are "joining together in sadness, shock and grief."
In brief remarks from the White House on Monday, Trump praised first responders, including the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, "for their courageous efforts." The president also said he would visit Las Vegas on Wednesday.
The gun attack on the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino killed at least 58 people and injured more than 500 others. Police said the suspect, identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock from Mesquite, shot himself to death.
"Last night a gunman opened fire on a large crowd at a country music concert in Las Vegas, Nevada. He brutally murdered more than 50 people and was an act of pure evil," Trump said in his televised address.
"We cannot fathom their pain, we cannot imagine their loss," he said of those who lost loved ones in the incident.
The president said the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Homeland Security were working with local authorities on the investigation.
Trump also called for unity in the aftermath of the shooting, the largest in US history. "Our unity cannot be shattered by evil, our bonds cannot be broken by violence."
"In times such as these I know we are searching for some kind of meaning in the chaos, some kind of light in the darkness," he said.
"The answers do not come easy. But we can take solace knowing that even the darkest space can be brightened by a single light, and even the most terrible de
Trump had been briefed earlier in the morning on the shooting and offered, in a tweet, his “warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the massacre.
Shortly after the US president delivered his statement, the White House released a proclamation ordering flags be flown at half-staff on federal buildings.
Trump rejects gun control debate in wake of Las Vegas massacre
US President Donald Trump has ruled out a political debate on gun control in the wake of the mass shooting in Las Vegas that left 59 dead and more than 500 others injured.
Asked during his return from touring hurricane damage in Puerto Rico whether such a debate would take place in the future, Trump responded, “Perhaps that will come,” but stressed it was “not for now.”
"Look we have a tragedy. What happened in Las Vegas is in many ways a miracle. The police department has done such an incredible job. We'll be talking about gun laws as time goes by,” Trump said.
The massacre in Las Vegas, the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history, has once again thrust the bitter debate over gun control back to the center of politics in Washington.
Gun control activists and some congressional Democrats say now is the time to discuss restrictions on firearms such as semi-automatic rifles as well as high-capacity magazines.
Police found a total of 42 guns in the hotel room and house of 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, who rained down a barrage of bullets from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel towards an open-air concert Sunday night.
At least one of the rifles found in the hotel suite was outfitted with a “bump stock,” a legal attachment that allows a semi-automatic weapon to fire at the same rate as a fully automatic firearm.
Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill are focused on convincing Trump to break with his party and pressure Republicans to take action on gun control.
“None of this matters if we can’t get Republicans to do something,” one senior Democratic aide told The Hill.
Republicans, however, accuse their Democratic colleagues of politicizing a national tragedy with some conservatives warning that Trump would face a political disaster if he moved left on the issue.
Trump has been an outspoken ally to the gun lobby both as a candidate and president. In April, he told the National Rifle Association convention that they had a "true friend and champion in the White House."
More than 100,000 people are shot each year in the US at a total cost of $45 billion, according to a study published in the journal Health Affairs hours after the shooting in Las Vegas.

9 Things You Must Handle With Care If You Must Live Long
There are things that are so fragile in nature & anyone who wants to handle them must do so with every carefulness and tenderness. I saw a truck loaded with cartons of Indomie Noddles. Two guys were asked to move the cartons of Indomie from the truck into a shop. You need to see the throwing and catching prowess of these two guys. One was in the truck throwing the cartons to the one at the entrance of the shop and he was throwing it into the shop. The one in the truck can throw about 3 cartons at a time and the one in the shop will catch it so well. They can do it like that because the Indomie in the cartons is not fragile. They can’t handle crates of egg like that when loading from a truck into a shop. It takes extra care and tenderness if not, it will break and that will amount to huge debt and wastage.
Friends, there are things we also must carry and handle with extra- care because these things are fragile and once broken, it is not easy to put back together and once some of this things get broken, they can lead to huge damage and destiny wastage.

‘Twas mine, ’tis his, and has been slave to thousands;
But he that filches from me my good name
Robs me of that which not enriches him,
And makes me poor indeed’.
2: Your heart: Many hearts are broken, shattered, wounded and bitter today. Run away from people, and things that are bent on breaking your heart. Carry your heart like a crate of eggs. You need a whole heart before you can be said to be fully whole!

“Donald Trump is not fit to be president of the United States. He does not possess the requisite intellect and does not understand the significance of the office he holds nor the tasks associated with it,” Klaus Brinkbäumer wrote in an editorial published by the magazine on Friday.
“He doesn't read. He doesn't bother to peruse important files and intelligence reports and knows little about the issues that he has identified as his priorities. His decisions are capricious and they are delivered in the form of tyrannical decrees,” it added.
Last month, a group of American psychiatrists warned that Trump has a "dangerous mental illness" and is unfit to lead the country.
Over thirty mental health experts noted that Trump was “paranoid and delusional” and that they were responsible for warning Americans about the “dangers” Trump poses.
“We have an ethical responsibility to warn the public about Donald Trump's dangerous mental illness,” they said.
Trump has been on defense for reportedly sharing classified information with Russian officials and allegedly trying to quash an FBI investigation into possible collusion between his presidential campaign and Moscow.
According to a report, Republicans on Capitol Hill are growing frustrated with Trump’s conduct in office, realizing that his deepening scandals could cost them re-election.
Many Republicans have in recent days joined Democrats in calling for a special prosecutor to take over the investigation, while others want a select congressional committee to be appointed. Some are even beginning to speculate about impeachment.
Trump faces accusations that he obstructed justice with his dismissal of FBI Director James Comey, who reportedly authored a memo that said the president asked him to drop an inquiry about former national security adviser Michael Flynn’s alleged ties to Russia.
The Der Spiegel editorial called Trump a “miserable” person. “He fired the FBI director simply because he could. James Comey had gotten under his skin with his investigation into Trump's confidants. Comey had also refused to swear loyalty and fealty to Trump and to abandon the investigation. He had to go.”

Polls close in Iran presidential election
The polls closed at 24:00 local time (1930 GMT) on Friday after voting hours were extended several times. More than 56 million people were eligible to vote in the election. Preliminary results are expected to trickle in throughout the next hours.
The main competition was between Rouhani and Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, who is the current custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH) in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad.
This year’s presidential race also featured two low-key contenders - former deputy judiciary chief and member of Iran’s Expediency Council Mostafa Aqa-Mirsalim, and former vice president, Mostafa Hashemi-Taba.
Two more candidates, Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri, dropped out of the race on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
Qalibaf withdrew candidacy in favor of Raeisi and Jahangiri pulled out in favor of Rouhani.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who cast his vote immediately after the polls opened, said, "Everyone should vote in this important election."
The 5th Islamic City and Village Council Elections were also held across Tehran on Friday.
The competition in Tehran was between reformist candidates campaigning under the slogan of “Hope”, who had aligned themselves with Rouhani, and Principlists who make up the majority in the Islamic City Council of Tehran.
Mohsen Hashemi, the son of the late Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, was the main figure of the Hope list.
The principlist list was led by Mehdi Chamran, the current chairman of the Council.
Any group that wins most seats in the 21-member council can decide who will be Tehran’s next mayor.
Dozens injured by Israeli forces in Palestine protests
Thousands rally in occupied West Bank and Gaza in support of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
Dozens of Palestinians have been injured during protests in various parts of the West Bank, occupied since 1967 by the Israeli army, and near the security barrier that seals off the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli forces used tear gas, rubber bullets and live fire against thousands of protesters on Friday, the Palestine Red Crescent Society said.
About 1,500 people protested in Hebron, in the southern West Bank, while demonstrations also took place in other towns and villages.
The Palestinians were demonstrating in support of hundreds of prisoners in Israeli jails who have been on hunger strike since April 17, demanding better conditions.
In Gaza, which has been under a rigorous Israeli blockade for more than 10 years, hundreds of people waving Palestinian flags approached the concrete and metal barrier that separates it from Israel and threw stones and burned tyres.
The health authorities in Gaza said eight people were wounded by bullets and about 30 suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.

LAGOS, Nigeria: Boko Haram offers to swap kidnapped girls for detainees
LAGOS, Nigeria — Nigeria’s Boko Haram extremists are offering to free more than 200 young women and girls kidnapped from a boarding school in the town of Chibok in exchange for the release of militant leaders held by the government, a human rights activist has told The Associated Press.
The activist said Boko Haram’s current offer is limited to the girls from the school in northeastern Nigeria whose mass abduction in April 2014 ignited worldwide outrage and a campaign to “Bring Back Our Girls” that stretched to the White House.
The new initiative reopens an offer made last year to the government of former President Goodluck Jonathan to release the 219 students in exchange for 16 Boko Haram detainees, the activist said. The man, who was involved in negotiations with Boko Haram last year and is close to current negotiators, spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to reporters on this sensitive issue.
Fred Eno, an apolitical Nigerian who has been negotiating with Boko Haram for more than a year, told the AP that “another window of opportunity opened” in the last few days, though he could not discuss details.
He said the recent slew of Boko Haram bloodletting – some 350 people killed in the past nine days – is consistent with past ratcheting up of violence as the militants seek a stronger negotiating position.
Presidential adviser Femi Adesina said on Saturday that Nigeria’s government “will not be averse” to talks with Boko Haram. “Most wars, however furious or vicious, often end around the negotiation table,” he said.
Eno said the 5-week-old administration of President Muhammadu Buhari offers “a clean slate” to bring the militants back to negotiations that had become poisoned by the different security agencies and their advice to Jonathan.
Two months of talks last year led government representatives and Eno to travel in September to a northeastern town where the prisoner exchange was to take place, only to be stymied by the Department for State Service intelligence agency, the activist said.
At the last minute, the agency said it was holding only four of the militants sought by Boko Haram, the activist said.
It is not known how many Boko Haram suspects are detained by Nigeria’s intelligence agency, whose chief Buhari fired last week.
The activist said the agency continues to hold suspects illegally because it does not have enough evidence for a conviction, and any court would free them. Nigerian law requires charges be brought after 48 hours.
Thousands of suspects have died in custody, and some detainees wanted by Boko Haram may be among them. Amnesty International alleges that 8,000 detainees have died in military custody – some have been shot, some have died from untreated injuries due to torture, and some have died from starvation and other harsh treatment.
In May, about 300 women, girls and children being held captive by Boko Haram were rescued by Nigeria’s military, but none were from Chibok. It is believed that the militants view the Chibok girls as a last-resort bargaining chip.
In that infamous abduction, 274 mostly Christian girls preparing to write science exams were seized from the school by Islamic militants in the early hours of April 15, 2014. Dozens escaped on their own in the first few days, but 219 remain missing.
Boko Haram has not shown them since a May 2014 video in which its leader, Abubakar Shekau warned: “You won’t see the girls again unless you release our brothers you have captured.”
In the video, nearly 100 of the girls, who have been identified by their parents, were shown wearing Islamic hijab and reciting the Quran. One of them said they had converted to Islam.
International indignation at Nigeria’s failure to rescue the girls was joined by U.S. first lady Michelle Obama. In a radio address in May 2014, she said she and President Barack Obama are “outraged and heartbroken” over the abduction.
Jonathan’s government initially denied there had been any mass abduction and delays of a rescue that might have brought the girls home became a hallmark of his other failures. He steadfastly refused to meet with the Bring Back Our Girls campaigners, charging they were politicizing the issue.
On Wednesday, President Buhari welcomed those campaigners at the presidential villa in Abuja and pleaded “We only ask for your patience.” He said “The delay and conflicting reaction by the former government and its agencies is very unfortunate.”
Campaign leader Oby Ezekwesili said, “The rescue of our Chibok girls is the strongest statement that this government could make to showg respect for the sanctity and dignity of every Nigerian life.”
There have been unconfirmed reports that some of the girls have been taken to neighboring countries, and that some have been radicalized and trained as fighters. At least three were reported to have died – one from dysentery, one from malaria and one from a snake bite.
Last year, Shekau said the girls were an “old story,” and that he had married them off to his fighters.
Lawan Zanna, whose daughter is among the captives, said this week that 14 Chibok parents have died since the mass kidnapping, many from stress-related illnesses blamed on the ordeal.
Some of the Chibok girls who managed to escape have been rejected by their community and now live with family friends, tired of hearing taunts like “Boko Haram wives.”
The assumption that all girls and women held by the group have been raped is a difficult stigma to overcome in Nigeria’s highly religious and conservative society.
Shekau had threatened in 2013 to kidnap women and girls if Nigeria’s military did not release detained Boko Haram wives and children. The government freed them in May of that year as a goodwill gesture ahead of failed peace talks.
Boko Haram has kidnapped hundreds more – girls, boys, women and young men. Some have become sex slaves, while others are used as fighters, according to former captives.
Nigerian opinion on negotiating with the extremists is mixed. Some say the group’s crimes are too heinous to be forgiven: The 6-year-old Islamic uprising has killed more than 13,000 people and forced about 1.5 million from their homes.
“A lot of people take a hard-line stance that you must never negotiate with a terrorist,” said Sen. Chris Anyanwu. She called it a “very complex” issue, balancing the lives of more than 200 girls against the dangers of freeing extremists.
The militants last year seized a large swath of northeast Nigeria and declared an Islamic caliphate. Nigeria and its neighbors deployed a multinational army that forced them out of towns and villages this year, but the bloodshed has risen at a fierce rate since Buhari’s May 29 inauguration amid pledges to crush the insurgency.

Presidency faults PDP on N713.7bn bailout for states
The Presidency on Wednesday took on the Peoples Democratic Party and those it called the party’s agents over their position on the relief released to state governments by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mr. Femi Adesina

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, accused the PDP of creating unnecessary controversy over “the well-intentioned effort” of the President.
He described as “banal and ludicrous” the claim by the party’s spokesman, Olisa Metuh, that the past government should be given credit for saving the money that was disbursed.
The statement read in part, “Mr. Metuh’s claim that a significant amount of the funds came from savings accumulated in the Excess Crude Account and handed over to the Buhari administration is completely false and deliberately intended to mislead the public.
“As we clearly stated yesterday (on Tuesday), the funds approved by President Buhari for sharing to the three tiers of government on Monday came entirely from dividends and taxes paid to the Federation Account by the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Company, not from the Excess Crude Account.
“The disbursed NLNG dividends and taxes were paid into the Federation Account in June this year and confirmed by the Central Bank’s statement to the Federal Government on July 7, 2015.
“The funds cannot, therefore, be considered ‘savings’ by the Jonathan administration which left office in May, 2015, as disingenuously claimed by Mr. Metuh.
“Instead of being repeatedly impugned and castigated by the PDP and its agents for honestly telling Nigerians that the nation’s treasury has been immensely depleted and its resources looted or squandered under previous administrations, President Buhari should be commended for the openness, transparency and accountability which he has now brought to the management of national funds.
“It was in keeping with that disposition that the President promptly disclosed the accrual of the NLNG dividends and taxes to the Federation Account at his recent meeting with state governors and approved the convening of a special session of the FAAC to share it.
“As a state governor, who was present at the meeting, remarked, under the past administrations, the states never had the benefit of such disclosures.
“Mr. Metuh and others, who now ungratefully see Monday’s disbursement of the NLNG proceeds as their “legitimate” earnings and not a “bailout” from the Federal Government, may wish to tell Nigerians if such earnings were ever disclosed by the PDP Federal Government and paid to the states in the past.
“The public may also wish to note that the Buhari administration itself has never referred to the actions which it was taken to ease the current financial difficulties of states as a “bailout.”

Nigeria: Buhari approves N713.7b for states to pay workers
TVC NEWS [ABUJA] - Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday approved the release of N713.7billion intervention funds for cash strapped states to pay outstanding workers’ salaries.
TVC NEWS reliably gathered that the bailout is part of a three-pronged relief package that will end the workers’ plight.
The package, according to sources, includes N413.7billion special intervention funds and the balance of about N250billion to N300billion, which is a soft loan to states.
Also, N413.7b( $2.1b) is sourced from the recent LNG proceeds and the remaining N300b is a Central Bank-packaged special intervention fund.
Meanwhile, the Debt Management Office(DMO) is expected to assist states to restructure over N660billion commercial loans.
With the development, sources said President Buhari has stopped deductions from monthly allocations to states at source.
Instead, the Federal Government will “use its influence to guarantee the elongation of the loans for the benefit of the states”.
The beneficiaries of the relief package include workers in Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies(MDAs) who have remained unpaid for many months.
According to sources, the President took the decision to boost the purchasing power of Nigerians, especially average and low-income earners, and to reflate the economy.
The sources said: “In his resolve to put an end to the lingering crisis of unpaid workers’ salaries in the country especially in many states, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a comprehensive relief package designed to save the situation.
“Specifically, the President has okayed a three-pronged relief package that will end the workers’ plight.
These are:
•The sharing of about $2.1b (N413.7bn) in fresh allocation between the states and the Federal Government. The money is sourced from recent LNG proceeds to the federation account, and its release okayed by the President;
•A Central Bank-packaged special intervention fund that will offer financing to the states, ranging from between N250b to N300b. This would be a soft loan available to states to access for the purposes of paying backlog of salaries; and
•A debt relief programme proposed by the Debt Management Office (DMO), which will help states restructure their commercial loans currently put at over N660B, and extend the life span of such loans while reducing their debt-servicing expenditures.
The sources said the bailout will take immediate effect from this week to ensure stability in all the states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The sources said: “While the over $2b, which is sourced from LNG proceeds to the federation account would be shared among the states, using the revenue allocation formula, the CBN will also make available the special intervention fund to states and then negotiate the terms with individual states.
“The packages that have now been approved by President Buhari is expected to go into effect this week as the President is said to have directed that release of the funds should be made as soon as possible to assuage the plight of thousands of Nigerian workers in the federal and state governments.”
The sources said with the rescheduling of states’s debts, their allocations will no longer be deducted at source by commercial banks.
The sources added: “This third option, by extending the commercial loans of the states, would therefore make available more funds to the state governments which otherwise would have been removed at source by the banks.
“The Federal Government will use its influence to guarantee the elongation of the loans for the benefit of the states.”
Government sources explained at the weekend that this package, which was considered at the National Economic Council( NEC )last week, had been designed specifically for workers.
“Furthermore, President Buhari has now reviewed and approved the package in his bid to intervene and alleviate the suffering of workers some of whom have not been paid for over ten months,” the sources said.
The bailout will be extended to workers in Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
“There are also workers in the Federal Government’s employ whose salaries have been unpaid for months. This package is expected to address those cases also,” one of the sources added.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, confirmed that indeed a special package was on the way for workers.
He added that the president is deeply concerned about the plight of the workers who have been unpaid for many months.
During the inauguration of NEC last week, President Buhari asked the Council, which is a constitutional advisory body to him, to, as a matter of priority consider how to “liquidate the unpaid salaries of workers across the country, a situation he observed has brought untold hardship to the workers.”

Police parades fake medical doctor
(Nigeria) The Police in Abuja on Tuesday, paraded a 44 year old man for impersonating Dr George Daniel, a medical doctor working at the Bingham University Teaching Hospital, Jos, Plateau State.
Parading the suspect, the Force Public Relations Officer, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu said that he used academic credentials of Daniel to secure a job with the Federal Ministry of Health.
Ojukwu, who was represented by the Deputy FPRO, Mr Abayomi Shogunle, said that the suspect had paraded himself as a medical doctor in the health ministry for almost one decade.
He said that the investigation into the matter followed a petition from Festus Keyamo Chambers to the Police.
``I find it very expedient at this time to address the press for the purpose of acquainting you as it concerns the case of impersonation of the identity of Dr George Davidson by the suspect,’’ he said.
He explained that the perceived unprofessional conduct and unwholesome behaviour by the suspect prompted the petition against him to the federal civil service.
``The actual medical doctor in Jos further exposed the true identity of the impostor,’’ he said.
He advised Nigerians to ensure diligence in keeping valuable documents to avoid falling prey to unscrupulous elements.
Ojukwu said that the suspect would soon be arraigned in court for impersonation, framing of incorrect document, breach of official trust, criminal intimation among others, contrary to the Penal Code.
``We have concluded our investigation and he will be charged to court in the next few days,`` he said.
Fielding questions from journalists, the suspect said that he got the credentials from Daniel when he visited him in his house in Karu to help him secure employment.
The suspect, a father of five children said that he had no university degree but had some training at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria while working in the ministry on grade level 13.
He said that he joined the ministry in 2006 because of the love he had for Nigeria to expose the corruption being perpetrated there.
The suspect hails from Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue.

Nigeria's Boko Haram crisis: Zaria bomb 'kills 25'
School teachers were among the victims of the bombing
A bomb attack has killed at least 25 people and wounded 32 others in northern Nigeria's Zaria city, the state governor has said.
A suspected suicide bomber targeted civil servants at a government building in the city, witnesses said.
Emergency workers have rushed to the scene to help evacuate the wounded.
Militant Islamist group Boko Haram, which often targets northern Nigeria, has stepped up attacks since President Muhammudu Buhari took office in May.
The group has not yet commented on the latest attack.
It came a day after police chief Solomon Arase announced new measures to curb the rise in bombings. They include:
- banning street trading and hawking in the capital, Abuja
- strengthening security at all mosques and churches countrywide.
Witnesses in Zaria said people including primary school teachers had been queuing up seeking employment under Mr Buhari's administration when the bomb detonated in Zaria's Sabon Gari district.
Emergency services battled to cope in the aftermath of the bombing
"We call on our citizens to be vigilant and avoid crowded places like markets, mosques, churches and motor parks in the next few weeks," Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufa'i said on his Twitter account.
Mr El-Rufa'i said the government was working with the security agencies to end the wave of militant attacks in the country.

Interesting Details Of How The Ikorodu Bank Robbers Were Arrested (Must Read)
Four members of the robbery gang, which unleashed terror on two commercial banks in the Ipakodo, Ikorodu area of Lagos two weeks ago, have been arrested by the police.
Our correspondent learnt that the suspected robbers were arrested from Okitipupa, Ondo State, and Ikorodu, Lagos State, while three Sport Utility Vehicles allegedly bought from the proceeds of the robbery were recovered.
The suspects’ names were given as Monday Akpan, Bright Agbojule, the third identified simply as Jafaru, and one Baba Ibeji.
On Wednesday, June 24, the gang, which was reportedly led by a woman, had stormed the Ebute-Ipakodo branches of the First Bank and Zenith Bank at about 8.30am, and carted away millions of
naira.
The robbers, who overwhelmed policemen from the Ipakodo division, were said to have carted away about N60m from the Zenith Bank’s strong room, while N20m were stolen from the bank’s ATM room.
The suspects, who dared policemen to confront them, later escaped in two speedboats at the Ipakodo jetty, Ikorodu.
Four persons, including a bank customer, who were hit by bullets during the one-hour operation, were taken to the General Hospital, Ikorodu.
PUNCH Metro gathered that four members of the gang were arrested by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, in an operation involving a former SARS commander, SP Abba Kyari, and an officer, DSP James Okeke.
PUNCH Metro gathered that one of the suspected robbers, a week after the operation, had headed for the Okitipupa area, Ondo State, with a Lexus bought with the proceeds of the robbery.
A police source told PUNCH Metro that the suspect was arrested by soldiers, who were on a stop-and-search exercise in Ondo State.
It was learnt that the suspect was also found with bundles of new N1,000 notes with bank seals.
The police source said the arrest was the break that the police needed, adding that the suspect later led policemen to arrest other members of the gang.
He said, “The soldiers were on a stop-and-search and they found the suspect, identified only as Baba Ibeji, while on his way to his home town in Okitipupa, Ondo State.
“During a search, they found bundles of new N1,000 notes with bank seals in his bag.
“The soldiers, who were also aware of the bank robbery in Lagos, smelt a rat and contacted the Lagos State Police Command on the development.
“The former CP, Kayode Aderanti, immediately contacted experienced hands in SARS for the interview of the suspect. The suspect gave the contacts and names of other suspects. The operatives subsequently mobilised more officers to Ikorodu and made some arrests.
“Three suspects were picked up by the police in Ikorodu. Two of them had bought Sport Utility Vehicles with the proceeds. All of them had bought plots of land with their loots. Three vehicles have been recovered for now.”
Our correspondent learnt that the suspects would be paraded on Monday (today) at the state command headquarters, Ikeja.
It was learnt that efforts were still being intensified to get other members of the gang, which reportedly numbered about 15.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the arrests in a text message.
He said, “The Commissioner of Police, Kayode Aderanti, will parade the suspects on Monday, as he hands over to the new CP, Fatai Owoseni, at the command headquarters.”
